Appointment of Robin Brett QC

The Directors of Kooyoora Ltd have appointed Mr Robin Brett QC as Deputy President of the Professional Standards Board for the dioceses of Melbourne and Bendigo.

Most recently, Robin Brett served the State of Victoria as Inspector constituting the Victorian Inspectorate,  a statutory body that is part of the Victorian Government’s anti-corruption regime; its governing Act is the Victorian Inspectorate Act 2011. He served until 31 December 2017.

The principal role of the Inspectorate is to oversee the exercise of coercive powers by the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission (IBAC), the Victorian Ombudsman and the Chief Examiner.

Prior to 2012, Robin practised law as a member of the Victorian Bar from 1981, Queen’s Counsel from 1996.  He was Chairman of the Victorian Bar Council during 2003 – 2004.
